Do you have a virtual tour I can view before scheduling an in-person showing?
Yes! Please jump to the Virtual Tour tab. There have been some updates since the tour was filmed, including new tables, exterior doors, and storage room.
Do you offer on-site catering or require me to choose from a preferred vendor list?
No and no. You can use whomever you like for food and beverage service, saving you money and giving you total freedom of choice!
What packages do you offer?
Rental price is essentially facility-only, however table seating for approx 100 is included, plus there are benches built into the perimeter of the barn for additional seating.
Clients are responsible for decorating and tear-down, but we try to be flexible when it’s not rented immediately before or after your date, and frequently book weekends instead of by the day to allow for this.
There is no price difference whether you have reception only or ceremony + reception on site.
Do you rent linens, china, folding chairs, A/V equipment, additional tables, heaters, or other equipment?
We do have white garden-style chairs available to rent. Other items can be obtained from any event rental facility in the area, and caterers should provide dinnerware and flatware.
Do you have a dumpster on-site?
No. Clients are responsible for their own trash haul off.
Do you allow alcohol?
Yes. If serving alcohol, you must obtain event liability insurance. Some options are below. For more detailed questions on alcohol service, please contact us directly.
Where can I find event liability insurance?
Check here first! They are affordable and will send us everything we need once your policy is in place: https://www.eventsured.com/red-dutch-barn-greer/
Another option is Shared Alliance. Find them here: https://sharedalliance.com/wedding-event-insurance/
We also work with Jamie (jeatmon@fdean.com) at Francis Dean & Associates. Email him for a quote, and he will send the necessary documents directly to us.
Is The Red Dutch Barn climate controlled?
Due to the barn’s authentic and rustic nature, it is not feasible to drywall, insulate, and fully climate-control the building. We have added heating & cooling to the bridal room/ladies room. The barn does stay pretty mild inside for most of the year. However, we usually close from the week of Christmas through early/mid February, and our peak seasons are fall & spring. For summer weddings or events, we do have some fans on site.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes. We do offer a flat discount to law enforcement, military/veterans, and first responders (must be bride or groom).
NEW! Early booking discount - for full priced events booked 12+ mos in advance
NEW! Same day tour discount - when contract is signed and $500 downpayment is made on the day of your site visit
We also sometimes advertise “last-minute” discounts or deals to fill in unreserved dates.
Discounts are based on full priced events and cannot be combined.
How much of a deposit do you require?
For weddings/large events, we ask for $500 nonrefundable to hold the date, which is deducted from your total rental fee, with the balance due within 60 days of your event. For smaller events, deposit varies.
What’s your #1 rule?
Please take care of the place as if it were your own. This is our personal family property, not a huge commercial venture for us. We enjoy renting it out to couples and families who are looking for an inviting, affordable venue where they can make memories of their own!
Is the Red Dutch Barn only for weddings?
No way! In the past, we’ve hosted vendor fairs, markets, high school proms, graduation parties, birthday parties, reunions, baby showers, and art shows. When contacting us, be sure to tell us what type of event you’re interested in, when you’d like to have it, as well as how many guests you’re having, so we can work up an accurate quote.
